THE BALTICA ANNOUNCEMENT
Seven volumes of the BALTICA Yearbook were published between 1963-1982. After several years of hibernation the idea of a renewed BALTICA was born in July, 1993, and the first new BALTICA Yearbook was published in 1994. BALTICA is published biannually in cooperation with geoscientists of the circum-Baltic States. BALTICA is sponsored by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania. The language of the Journal is English.
Manuscripts offered to BALTICA should be formatted in accordance with the Instructions to authors.
The Baltica Scientific Programme Committee consists of 18 members. The Baltica Programme is accepted as follows:
* BALTICA provides a rostrum for original and peer-review papers of international interests on various Earth science issues. The basic themes, as BALTICA's Vol.1 published in 1963 reads, are "the history of Baltic Sea, the shore morphology and recent dynamics, neotectonics and submarine geology". However, the Earth science system are far-reaching, therefore the renewed BALTICA Journal announces acceptance from 2004 papers relevant to whole Baltic Sea and land area. Particular emphasis is given to Quaternary geology, climate changes and development of ecosystems, palaeogeography, environmental geology, as well as tectonics, sedimentology and surface processes with relevance to the development of the Baltic area. The scientific publications in BALTICA emphasize modern techniques, methodology and standards .*
Submitted papers are reviewed by two referees.
The BALTICA structure is prepared as follows: * ARTICLES (up to 20 type pages, including illustrations and references); * BALTICA REVIEW (400 words); * BALTICA INFORMATION: Research Projects, Seminars, Expeditions, Announcements, Remarks (200 words each); BALTICA BIBLIOGRAPHY.
